Mithali Raj Becomes First Indian Woman to Reach 2000 Runs in T20Is

Mithali Raj has became the first Indian cricketer and seventh overall to score 2000 runs in women’s T20Is, on Thursday. During India’s seven-wicket win over Sri Lanka in the ongoing Women’s Asia Cup, Mithali scored 33-ball 23 and during the course of her innings, she crossed the 2000-run mark in the shortest format of the game.

She now stands at seventh spot in the list of most runs scored in this format. Till date, she has played 74 matches (71 innings) in which she has managed to score these many runs. Mithali has also slammed 14 fifties thus far and her highest score being 76*. India T20I skipper Harmanpreet Kaur is the closest Indian cricketer to Mithali Raj on this list as she has scored 1467 runs in 79 matches (70 innings).
