Sumathipala Led Administration Obliges Favorites On Last Day

Just like it had become a norm during his two years tenure at Sri Lanka Cricket Board (SLC) as its President, Thilanga Sumathipala led administration obliged favorites on the last day at office as well, Cricket Age reliably learns.

May 31st was the last day of Sumathipala Led administration at SLC, after Court Of Appeal crashed their plans to held the AGM and win comprehensively.

However, on last day itself, the top officials made it sure that their ‘favorites’ gets all kind of benefits.

According to sources, Apsari Tillakaratne, the Convenor of women’s Team, got one year extension of her contract, even though her existing Contract was supposed to end in June 30. More importantly, Under Apsari supervision, Sri Lanka Women’s team is on ventilator and it has become one of the weakest team in world cricket.

“Few days ago, Sumathipala refused for Apsari Extension and asked her to present her Work report of current tenure, but at last she managed to get extension somehow” A top SLC Official told Cricket Age.

Dananjaya Wijesinghe, HR Manager of SLC, also convinced his ‘bosses’ to get a promotion as Head Of HR department.

According to sources, K. Mathivanan, The former vice president of SLC, pushed him for the promotion.

The scenario was like that everyone was trying to ‘cash in’ on last day. By the evening, Sri Lanka media also came to know, that ‘favorites’ being obliged at SLC. Many news papers journalists started to ring those ‘Top Officials’ for inquiry over the biased obligations.
