Shammi Silva wants to play Sandakan in Pallekele test

Written by Rohit Pawar

Treasurer of Sri Lanka Cricket Board Shammi Silva has been pressing selectors and management to include Chinaman bowler Lakshan Sandakan in playing XI for the third test, Cricket Age has learnt.

Pallekele, the venue for the third test, has traditionally been supportive for fast bowlers, with pace and bounce. As Rangana Hearth has also been ruled out from the test, selectors were mulling to play there quick, including Dushmantha Chameera. But, Shammi Silva is in the favour of Sandakan.

It is a known fact that Sandakan plays for CCC, and Shammi Silva is the president of that club. Sandakan has played five test for Sri Lanka so far.
