Hashim Amla and David Miller, both vital players in the Kings XI Punjab side, have left in preparation for the Champions Trophy. Delhi Daredevils all-rounder Chris Morris and pacer Kagiso Rabada has also made an end to his IPL campaign. AB De Villiers and FAF DU Plessis, represents RCB and Pune Supergaint respectively, also flied to South Africa.

On the record, everyone is saying : there is a Champions Trophy, starting from May 1st, so they left the IPL to do the preparation for the tournament.

But, HERE IS THE INSIDE STORY :

Cricket Age learnt that The chief executive of Cricket South Africa Haroon Lorgat requested India to confirm their tour to South Africa in December this year. Lorgat sent a letter to Rahul Johri, the CEO at BCCI, saying that he would agree to South African cricketers continuing to participate in the IPL, only after the BCCI send in their confirmation for the proposed tour.

However, as BCCI currently is under the super vision of COA,  appointed by Supreme Court of India, so understandably, Rahul Johri decided not to respond to Lorgat’s letter as of now. He rightly decided to wait for the right time to communicate upon the request.

Lorgat, however, took a firm stance and decided not to extend the window for South African cricketers who were playing in the ongoing IPL. May 8 was the deadline for South Africans taking part in the IPL 2017. That’s why, The players have now left their respective franchises!

BCCI insiders however claims that CSA’s stand on the issue regarding India’s participation is clearly “an unfair one”. The matter comes in the wake of a “weak” BCCI.
