Sri Lanka-South Africa Match ‘Winning Percentage’ Changes Dramatically

Written by Rohit Pawar

On the eve of the first ODI between Sri Lanka and South Africa at Dambulla, the winning percentage on a betting outlet named ‘Sporting Star’ changed dramatically, Cricket Age learns.

The match is being  played at Dambulla Stadium, where historically the team who bats first, wins the match. After winning the toss, Sri Lanka have opted to bat. Sri Lanka have included Allrounder Shehan Jayasuriya in the playing eleven, who has been in a form of his life in last six months.

Interestingly, the average 1st innings score in the last five ODIs at Dambulla is 205 and the win percentage for team batting first is only 20.

It is noteworthy that the ‘Sporting Star’ is SLC former president Thilanga Sumathipala’s family owned outlet.

On Saturday, Sumathipala visited Dambulla Stadium with his close associates and ‘inspected’ certain things.
