“sorry, It was a bit of a brain fade,” Smith said.

After his strange lookout towards the dressing room for hints after being trapped on the pads by Umesh Yadav in the second innings on Tuesday, Australia captain Steven Smith has apologised for his behaviour.

“It was a bit of a brain fade and I shouldn’t have done that,” Smith wrote on his twitter handle after the match.

It was the 21st over of the Australia innings when Umesh wrapped Smith on the pads with one that skidded on after pitching. The Indians appealed straightaway as the ball hit Smith almost on his boots. Even as the Indians celebrated with Nigel Llong raising his finger, Smith could be seen looking at the dressing room, waiting for a clue if he should go for a review.
