KL Rahul’s innings against RCB most hideous in IPL history: Former India pacer Dodda Ganesh

Former India fast bowler Dodda Ganesh questioned KL Rahul’s approach in Lucknow Super Giants’ thrilling win over Royal Challengers Bangalore in their IPL 2023 match on Monday, April 10. KL Rahul’s side pulled off a stunning win, successfully chasing down 213 in a final over thriller but the skipper struggled to get going and put pressure on the rest of the batting unit.

KL Rahul, who in the past played down the importance of strike rate in T20s, managed just 18 runs in 20 balls in a steep chase. The Lucknow Super Giants captain struggled for timing and control as LSG slipped to 27 for 3 in the powerplay. Wayne Parnell and Mohammed Siraj knocked over the LSG top-order even as Rahul took his time to get going.

Taking to Twitter, Dodda Ganesh said he was not able to understand the thought process behind KL Rahul’s knock.

“This innings from KL Rahul has to be the most hideous innings played in the history of IPL ever considering the context of the game. Man. What’s in his mind? Seriously. This can’t happen for so long at this level. It’s not school cricket.” Dodda Ganesh tweeted after highlighting that there was no intent shown from Rahul in the powerplay.
