Australia captain Pat Cummins said that while the wicket did produce spin in the first innings, it wasn’t unplayable after their big loss in Nagpur in the first Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy.

India handed the visitors an innings and 132 runs loss on Saturday as the Aussies were bundled out for just 91 in the second innings with Ravichandran Ashwin picking up a five-wicket haul.

Before the match began, a lot of attention was on the pitch with the Australia media even claiming that the Indian team management had doctored the wicket in their favour.

However, Cummins said the wicket wasn’t unplayable in the first innings. Speaking at the post-match presentation, as quoted by Cricinfo, the Australian skipper said that India played well and praised his counterpart Rohit Sharma for his hundred.
