Jake Fraser-McGurk opened up on his batting mantra after hitting a 27-ball 87 against MI in the IPL 2024 on April 27, Saturday. Fraser-McGurk once again took the attack to the bowlers from the get-go as he put the Mumbai bowlers to the sword during the powerplay overs. The Aussie batter would talk about his role and his mantra while batting during the mid-innings break.

Fraser-McGurk talked about the power he generates while batting and said it is all about getting the base right and having the perfect stance. The Aussie batter said his batting also had a lot of timing involved in it.

“That’s my role, go out there and score as many as I can and get the team off to a nice start. Not at all, if I get ones and twos it’s probably off the last ball of the over or if I mis-hit it. It’s something I’ve always had, getting that base right and having the right stance. There’s a lot of timing involved in it. The ones that you mis-hit, you need to have a strong core, upper body and glutes as well,” said Fraser-McGurk.

Fraser-McGurk was in destructive mode from the get-go as he hit Luke Wood for 19 runs in the very first over. This was followed by a six and a boundary off Bumrah as the MI star went for 18 runs in his first over in the match.
