MS Dhoni never gave up in tough moments against SRH, says S Sreesanth

Chennai Super Kings crashed to their third successive defeat in IPL 2020 on Friday, after they lost to Sunrisers Hyderabad by 7 runs. This is for the first time since 2014 that the CSK have lost three consecutive matches. The team is now at the bottom of the points table in IPL 2020.

On Friday, CSK skipper MS Dhoni seemed to be struggling with fatigue during the run chase, but continued to fight on the field and try to get his team through. At some points during the run chase it looked like he just might be able to do it for the team.

But the former India skipper later admitted that he was struggling to middle the ball.

“I was not able to middle a lot of deliveries. Was trying to hit it too hard. When the wicket is slightly at the slower side, it is better to time it. Looking at outfield it was subconsciously coming to us to hit the ball hard,” Dhoni said in the post-match interview.

Dhoni also seemed to be struggling with fatigue and maybe some injury as well while batting for the CSK and was out of breath at times.

“Hats off to @msdhoni bhai..even in this heat keeping for 20 overs and then running (sprinting for his team) lots n lots of respect..now that’s what we call never ever giving up in toughest moments. Giving all in for his team#respect #cricket” Sreesanth tweeted.

Former India bowler RP Singh also tweeted, “Dhoni tried his best despite not feeling well. But, this match for me was all about the confidence and promise of #PriyamGarg Garg. VVS Laxman bhai has been guiding the young man well.”
