Harsha De Silva Appointed SL Women’s Team Coach

As Cricket Age published one month ago itself, Sri Lanka Cricket Board (SLC), on Wednesday, appointed Harsha De Silva as the Head Coach of Sri Lanka Women’s Cricket Team, effective from 15th August, 2018.

De Silva, who is a Cricket Australia Level 3 Accredited Coach, currently serves as the Women’s Head Coach of the Valleys District Cricket Club in Brisbane, Australia.

He also held the Sri Lanka Women’s Team Head Coach position; from 2010 to 2013, before leaving for Australia to become the Head Coach of the Wynnum Manly District Cricket Club.

According to sources, SLC controversial CEO Ashley De Silva backed Harsha De Silva for the post. Harsha De Silva also enjoys the support of his Sri Lanka Shorter formats captain Angelo Mathews, allrounder Thisara Perera and test opener Dimuth Karunaratne.

His latest appointment is effective for two years.
