Exposed! Did Jerome Jayarathne Pulls Journalist From Commentatory On Sumathipala Order?

As the Al Jazeera documentary on Galle Pitch-Fixing has rocked the Sri Lanka Cricket, lot of revelations related to controversy coming out. In another mysterious happening, one local journalist was pulled from the Commentary by Sri Lanka Cricket Board (SLC) COO Jerome Jayarathne on the order of higher Rank, Cricket Age reliably learns.

According to sources, the incident happened during the Galle Test Between Sri Lanka and Australia in 2016, The same match, in which Two former Sri Lanka domestic players were Caught in Al Jazeera’s documentary.

During the match, A local journalist Walisundara was doing the radio commentary for Sri Lanka Broadcasting Corporation (SLBC). However, when he raised some serious questions over the mysterious behavior of Pitch and criticised it, he was immediately pulled out from the Commentary.

When the Journalist opposed it and asked the reason to SLC COO Jerome Jayarathne, he replied that he followed the order of Higher Rank. Now, its not a rocket science to understand that then SLC President Thilanga Sumathipala was the highest authority of the board.

In one of the biggest match fixing controversy of recent times, A documentary by news organisation Al Jazeera has allegedly uncovered a match fixing scandal involving the curator of the Galle International Stadium in Sri Lanka, where Australia were thrashed inside three days in 2016.

The documentary shows Galle Stadium Assistant manager and curator Tharanga Indika claiming to be able to prepare a pitch to suit a desired outcome.
