Dayasiri’s proposed meeting on Friday heading for disaster

Written by Rohit Pawar

Past administrators and former National cricketers are not willing to attend tomorrow meeting, called by Sports Minister Dayasiri Jayasekara, Cricket Age has reliably learnt. It has also learnt that before these kind of meetings to cover up the wrongdoings of Sumathipala led SLC, former players and administrators want the Sports Minister to be mindful that a change is eminent, otherwise no one will come forward to serve National Team.

During the India series, Dayasiri called for this meeting to revamp the Sri Lanka Cricket.

But, Some former players are on the opinion that it is Dayasiri himself, who has been trying his best to protect Sumathipala.

They are on the opinion that if Dayasiri won’t take stern action against SLC very soon, he will be held responsible for the Cricket status at the National level.

Whether a report as to why SLC failed is available from the President and the CEO to evaluate

This is the common concern of all the past players and administrators, whom Sports Minister has invited for tomorrow meeting.

Why Dayasiri is continuesly protecting SLC, even after getting flack for the wrong doings of Thilanga and his executive committee from the cricket living public and cricketers, is beyond imagination of some of the past players, who wants to see Sri Lanka cricket back on track, after recent humiliating defeats.

They feels that Dayasiri should be above board and make bold decisions, taking into consideration the outburst of the public. If not, it would cost him his constitution of been reflected as a Minister and the government will loose the election if their is a cricket crisis and a uproar.
