Big Breaking! Angelo Mathews injured again, might return to Sri Lanka

Via a highly placed sources within SLC, Cricket Age learnt that Sri Lanka captain Angelo Mathews has injured again, before the all important champions trophy, that’s why he didn’t play in the second warm-up match against New Zealand on Tuesday.

The source revealed that Mathews picked the calf injury hours before the match against New Zealand. Though, the seriousness of the injury is yet to diluge, that’s why management has decided to wait till the medical report comes.

But it’s almost confirm that he won’t play in the team’s first match of the tournament against South Africa on Saturday. And,  there is an outside possibility, already, that Mathews might return to Sri Lanka, and Upul Tharanga might be the captain of the team.

Mathews didn’t play a single international match after January, after he suffered a hamstring injury during the series against South Africa.
