Breaking! BCCI in loggerheads with ICC, squad to be announced only after settlement

Written by Shreyas Vyas

The BCCI will announce the Indian cricket team squad for ICC Champions Trophy 2017 only after attending the ICC Board meeting on April 27. This means that BCCI will miss the deadline for submission of the 15-man squad for the tournament, which is April 25.

BCCI has been keeping the pressure on ICC to pull out of the Champions Trophy. The Indian cricket board has been very critical of the ICC for changing the revenue model for the big three countries – India, Australia and England, where India is losing out on big money.

Indian cricket team generates the largest chunk of the revenue and they should be getting the biggest share as well, thinks BCCI.
