Hardik Pandya’s and KL Rahul has been suspended by the BCCI for the current ODI series against Australia and the upcoming series against New Zealand. A committee has been set up by the CoA which is currently investigating the matter.

The suspended cricketers on Monday tendered unconditional apologies to the BCCI responding to the second show cause notice issued to them. The BCCI has been asked to submit the findings in the matter, in 15 days from now. Amid uncertainties over the duo’s future, former Indian cricketer Sanjay Manjrekar has lent his support to Hardik and Rahul asking the BCCI to be mature and not hand out brutal punishments to them.

“Absolutely! They were immature, let us be mature,” Manjrekar wrote while replying to a tweet on Pandya and Rahul.

“Yes, Hardik and Rahul have submitted their reply to the fresh showcause notices that were served to them. They have tendered unconditional apology. The CoA chief has instructed the CEO to conduct an inquiry as per clause 41 (c) of the new BCCI constitution,” a senior BCCI official told PTI confirming that Rahul and Pandya have submitted their apologies to the board.

Pandya and Rahul appeared on Bollywood filmmaker Karan Johar’s chat show ‘Koffee With Karan,’ where Pandya made some ‘sexist’ and ‘misogynist’ remarks on women.
