Bangladesh have become the fourth team after India, Pakistan and Hong Kong, to announce their squad for the 2025 Asia Cup. The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) on Friday named 16 first-team members and four standbys for the tournament.

Litton Das retained his place as captain after leading Bangladesh to their maiden T20I series win against Sri Lanka another over Pakistan at home in recent months. Das will be the first wicketkeeper too but to back him up, Bangladesh have called up 31-year-old gloveman Nurul Hasan Sohan who returns to the T20I side after nearly three years, having last featured in the format against Pakistan in the 2022 T20 World Cup in Australia.

Top-order batter Saif Hassan who also bowls a bit of off-spin also returned to the squad after almost two years. He has previously featured five T20Is for the Tigers, with the last apperance in 2023 Asian Games.

Pace attack leaders Mustafizur Rahman and Taskin Ahmed will provide the team with experience even as Najmul Hossain Shanto, the previous captain, remains shunned out. Spin all-rounder Mehidy Hasan Miraz, considered one of the best in the world for his role, has also been relegated to standbys, alongside Soumya Sarkar, Tanvir Islam and Hasan Mahmud.
