Ajay Jadeja feels that Sai Sudharsan has outshone Shubman Gill during this season of the IPL after his spectacular hundred against DC in GT’s win in Delhi on Sunday, May 18. Sudharsan scored 102 runs as Gujarat thrashed Delhi by 10 wickets. Gill also played a valiant knock of 93 from 53 balls as GT booked their place in the play-offs.
Sudharsan has 617 runs and is the current holder of the Orange Cap, while Gill sits in the second spot with 601. Speaking to the broadcasters, Jadeja said that the GT opener’s batting is pleasing to the eye and has looked better than his captain in all the matches so far.
Jadeja said that Sudharsan’s batting has been risk-free as compared to Gill this season.
“Sai Sudharsan has outshone the future India captain. His batting is pleasing to the eye. It is not like he was only ahead of Shubman in the match against Delhi Capitals. He has looked a better batter than Gill in the previous matches as well. His batting is risk-free as compared to Shubman’s,” he said on Star Sports.
‘Sudharsan looked at ease against Delhi’
One of the hallmarks of Sudharsan’s batting this season has been the way he has looked at ease while batting. Jadeja pointed this out and said despite playing with an accomplished cricketer, the Tamil Nadu batter looked more at ease than Gill.
