Sri Lankan former team manager Michael De Zoysa passed away

Former Sri Lanka Cricket team manager, stalwart of SSC and tea industry veteran Michael De Zoysa has passed away on sunday late evening after a brief illness. A day before his 73rd birthday, Michael was at the Cargills in Nawala, where he suffered a massive heart attack.

In  his  45 year career  in tea   he was  Chairman of  the Colombo Tea Traders’ Association for 15 Years  between 1983 and 2000. A  member of the Tea Council, Sri Lanka Tea   Board   and also  the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce. Mr. de Zoysa has Chaired many previous Colombo Tea Traders’ Tea Conventions including the last one held in 2007.

During his time as team manager, Sri Lanka won T20 world cup in 2014. Until early this year he also headed the Advisory Committee of Sri Lanka Cricket.
