SLC accountant Kamalika gets additional allowance

Kamalika Jayasekera, the powerful accountant of Sri Lanka Cricket Board (SLC), has received an additional allowance for her so called contribution in ‘millions of rupees’ for the board.

According to a management committee document, Kamalika has been granted an additional 75,000 per month for covering up the duties of head of finance since 6th September 2018. Kamalika, a former employee of Colombo Cricket Club (CCC), has been handling SLC finance division after the removal of Piyal Nandana over 5.5 million dollars attempted fraud.

“It was recommended to pay Rs. 75,000 per month as an additional acting allowance for the covering up duties of head of finance from 6th September 2018 to until a new HOF is recruited, considering the workload she had been handling and saving millions of rupees for SLC” a management committee document reads.

According to sources, Kamalika has the backing of SLC CEO Ashley De Silva and COO Jerome Jayarathne. Also, Kamalika maintains a good rapport with Ashley and Jerome’s secretaries Charmaine and Dushi, thus has become one of the most powerful employee at SLC within a short span of time.
