Thilanga Sumathipala, former controversial president of Sri Lanka Cricket Board (SLC) and former deputy speaker, has lately been trying every trick to revive his floundering political career, though, without any success. However, by each passing day, it is becoming near impossible for him to make a comeback both in political and cricket field.

And now, in a major development, his political guardian and country’s President Maithripala Sirisena has also blamed Sumathipala for misleading him during his most challenging period as a politician.

According to reliable sources, on Tuesday, Sirisena summoned Sumathipala to his residence and blasted him to every corner. Moreover, Sirisena directly blamed Sumathipala for giving him wrong informations and completely misleading him regarding coalition with an opposite leader.

It is noteworthy that currently Sri Lanka has been facing the biggest political crisis in its history. Since November 26, when Sirisena dissolved the parliament and appointed Mahinda Rajapaksa as New Prime Minister by removing Ranil Wickramsinghe, Sri Lanka politics has become the laughing stock in world stage.

According to sources, after getting flake from the every quarter for his recent political decisions that put Sri Lanka in big crisis, Sirisena has now realized that Sumathipala and former Sports Minister SB Dissanayake have misled him big time.

On Tuesday, an angry Sirisena blasted Sumathipala in front of the ministers.

Later, in another major disappointment, SPFP top brass told Sumathipala to bring his supporters from his Borella constituency for the party convention. However, Sumathipala could not bring even 50 supporters.
