Ashley De Silva Confirms On ‘South Africa Series Money Missing’ Episode

Written by N Krishnamurthy

Ashley De Silva, the controversial CEO of Sri Lanka Cricket Board (SLC), on Thursday, has accepted in front of CID that the board money is missing for South Africa Series, Cricket Age reliably learns.

On October 2, Cricket Age had published that SLC has not received a 15% payout fee for the recently concluded South Africa Series even though it has been paid by the channel.

“Although the amount has been paid by Sony, it has not been received in the account of SLC. Yesterday, Mr. Ashley De Silva appeared at CID and accepted that the money has not credited to SLC account” a board official had told Cricket Age.

Reportedly, the money has been transferred in an USA account.

In last two years, especially during former president Thilanga Sumathipala’s tenure, SLC became notorious for financial irregularities and frauds. Last month, three SLC employees tried to transfer SONY’s 11.1 million dollars in an offshore account.
