Legendary Sourav Ganguly found himself in a spot of bother as an Instagram account by his name which had more than 50,000 followers, was spreading false quotes. Dada clarified on his official Twitter account that the Instagram profile doesn’t belong to him and whatever quotes or news people read there shouldn’t be considered authentic.

The Instagram profile shared a long quote by Ganguly speaking about the first Test between India and England which resulted in a 31-run defeat for Virat Kohli and Co. Several media houses picked up those quotes from the Instagram post which have now turned out to be unauthentic.

“My Instagram page is a fake one ..please don’t pick up any news or quotes from it ..Will report to Instagram immediately @samiprajguru @imVkohli,” Ganguly tweeted clarifying fans about the Instagram account by the name of sganguly99.

The post had read, “If you’ve to win a Test then everyone has to score runs. The other batsmen have to score 100’s as well. #ViratKohli played very well otherwise India would have been out of the match on the 2nd day itself.

The post also quoted Ganguly blaming Kohli indirectly for the loss, as he is the captain.

“One criticism for Virat Kohli is that he should give a consistent run to his batters & more time before dropping them. The failure against swing in English conditions can’t be used as an excuse any more as everyone knows that it’s what you get when you come to England,” the post further added.
