Danushka Gunathilika to appeal against suspension

Sri Lanka shorter formats opener Danushka Gunathilika is likely to appeal against Six matches suspension slapped by SLC over his misconduct during India series, Cricket Age has learnt.

“He was seen at SLC yesterday and met with CEO Ashley De Silva. He will most likely to appeal against suspension” Source revealed.

Gunathilika has been charged for drinking, partying, not going for physio appointments, drinking before fitness test. In all, he is in breach of about 4 clauses of contract and 2 of Constitution.

After inquiry, SLC thoroughly suspended him for the next six ODI matches. Subsequently, he had been dropped from the ODI squad for the upcoming five match ODI series against Pakistan, Starting from 13th October.

Gunathilika had been in form of his life since last six months, having played many match winning knocks in shorter formats. He was the highest run scorer in the ODI series against Zimbabwe, and even made a debut in the first test against India.
