Sadeera Samarwikrama to debut in Dubai test

Written by Rohit Pawar

Top order batsman Sadeera Samarwikrama is set to debut in Dubai test starting from today, Cricket Age has learnt.

Lahiru Thirimane, Who played at number three and collected nine runs in two innings in the first test at Abu Dhabi will sit out, after complaining back stiffness.

Samarwikrama, 22, has been in the form of his life in last six months. He was the highest run scorer in Emerging Asia Cup earlier this year and extended his form in domestic season too.

A top order right handed batsman, Sadeera played for Colts Cricket Club and already have scored six first class hundreds. With Samarwikrama, Sri Lanka will have an option to open with him, and pushed Kaushal Silva to number three, Who has constantly been struggling with new ball.

Dubai test will be a memorable test not only for Samarwikrama but for Sri Lanka and we’ll, as it will be their first ever day-night test.
