Sri Lanka’s cricket is in shambles! But there are some mysterious facts, every Sri Lanka fan need to know! Though the team has been defeated even by lower ranked teams, but team’s performance in not in decline mode. Instead, team has been blessed with some of the youngsters, like Kusal Mendis and Niroshan Dickwela, whom fans can trust for a bright future.
Instead, the Sri Lanka’s cricket is in shambles, because of the administrators of SLC, including President Thilanga Sumathipala, Treasurer Shammi Silva and Sports Minister Dayasiri Jayasekera, who is able to sing his melodies as a politician.
They are united, they are team members, and they have taken an oath to ensure that Sri Lanka cricket is ruined the forever!
In the latest episode of wrongdoings, they have plotted a well-made plan to make millions of rupees, this time via Cricket gears!
Recently, the Sports Minister Dayasiri have ordered cricket gear for around 40 to 50 million. Also Shammi Silva, the powerful treasurer of SLC, has also ordered for the same amount for SLC, plus a further 50 million worth small and large covers.
The irony of these purchases is that the supplier for the Sports Ministry and SLC is the same brand identified as Mitsz! With the total value for cricket gear amounting Rs.100 million. So, Surprisingly the supplier is the same for both ministry and SLC!
The Supplier is Mitsz, and the agent for Mitsz in SL is former Colombo Cricket Club cricketer Chaminda . Handunetti, and it’s not a mere coincidence that Shammi and Thilanga are also from Colombo Cricket Club.
More interestingly, the persons from SLC who have gone for the evaluation are Hemal Mendis who is in charge of District & Provincial coaches, Jeewantha Kulatunga Provincial coach and from Dayasiri’s electorate Kurunegala, who was the former Women’s National Team coach who was sent out of SLC. and Kamal Dharamasiri, Manager of National Development, SLC who is in charge of the National Development Department, a very close comrade of Thilanga who distributed Thilanga’s funds during all his Board campaigns.
Now, it’s not a thing of guessing that, Thilanga, Shammi and Dayasiri are making hay while the sun shines, with the full backing from Colombo Cricket Club mate, Chamara Handunetti, a former cricketer.
The CEO, Ashley de Silva and Chief Operating Officer Jerome Jayarathana will be answerable to the Auditor Generals Department and to all stake holders in the near future. The present one and only Vice President, K. Mathivanan is a signatory of the cheques and LC’s that are signed for SLC whilst the other signatory is Treasurer Shammi from SLC.
In another episode SLC has approved the sum of Rs.9 million for sprinklers to be installed at the FTZ grounds, that is under the control of Godfrey Dabrera the International Venue Manager of SLC, which is on a lease agreement with SLC.
What the people would like to know the correct process that has taken place in SLC’s evaluation process and if the Ministry representative was present. Dayasiri should know that if proper tender procedures are not in place that he will be answerable to the public in the future.
But, as Sports Minister is also involved in all these things, Sumathipala and Co. Batting with no fear. So there is no surprise if Sports Minister openly tells that he is not going to dissolve the Sumathipala led SLC!
