Written by Pushpendra Albe

To shut the mouth of all his critics, who were writing him off, Chris Gayle returned to form with a vengeance. Against Gujarat Lions he smashed 77 in just 38 balls, including 7 towering sixes, and stormed his team RCB to a comfortable win.

From the first ball itself, Gayle was determined to prove the world that he has still that fire power. He got the place in playing XI by luck, as another super star of RCB, AB de Villiers decalered himself unfit, just two hours prior to the match.

So, team included Gayle in place of de Villiers, and he delivered his best innings of this IPL so far.

During the whirlwind innings, Gayle becomes the first man to score 10,000 runs in T20 cricket. Not surprisingly, 7478 of those have come in boundaries.

The next most prolific batsman in the t20 is Brandon Mccullam, with just over 7500 runs, while Brad Hodge, Kieren Pollard and David Warner has More than 7000 runs.
