After all the three series against Bangladesh resulted in draws, Sri Lanka cricket manager Asanka Gurusinha seems furious, as well as brutly honest in his approach.
“the loss in second t20 at Premdasa is unacceptable. This is the best batting wicket in Sri Lanka. if our batsmen can’t score here, then it’s very difficult to score anywhere” he annoyingly said.
He was especially disappointed with the fielding of the team.
“Chief Selector Sanath Jayasuriya and myself came to an agreement that for Champions trophy, we will select only those players, who are good fielders. If they are not good fielders, we won’t select them, no matter how many runs they amassed in domestic cricket” he concluded.
Sri Lanka will have to announce the preliminary squad for the Champions trophy, by 26th April.
