As a cricketer, Tillakratne Dilshan is amongst Sri Lanka greats! Especially in ODI cricket, he was a much bigger match winner than his more celebrated colleagues Mahela Jayawardene and Kumar Sangakara!
Fast forward to present, Dilshan has migrated to Australia now! He Intends to make a career in coaching and do one by one coaching In Melbourne!
However, since last one and half month, Dilshan is staying in Sri Lanka and it has led to plethora of speculations and rumours that he is eyeing a coaching assignment at Sri Lanka Cricket – either head coach of national team replacing Chris Silverhood after the T20 World Cup or a high profile position at High Performance Centre (HPC).
However, when Cricket Age inquired, it turned out false – before or after the T20 World Cup, Dilshan is not considered for any coaching assignment at Sri Lanka Cricket! The reason was given that under Silverhood watch finally Sri Lanka national team looks settled and has started playing as an unit.
“All these speculations and rumours seems well planned, to make a hype. Dilshan, as coach, has no expierence and credibility, even at junior level” a Sri Lanka Cricket expert told Cricket Age.
So, why Dlishan continue hanging in Sri Lanka?
“The reason might be that some Influential outsiders are there to get him in to the system” the expert added.
