Irfan Pathan has heaped praise on Royal Challengers Bangalore star batter Virat Kohli for his assault on Mumbai Indians’ Jofra Archer during the IPL 2023 clash on Sunday, 2nd April.

The RCB batter scored 28 runs off 17 balls he faced against Archer and also hit him for a fantastic six.

Kohli ended up remaining unbeaten on 82 from 49 deliveries and scored the winning runs on the day with a six as RCB won the match by eight wickets. The Indian star batter’s innings consisted of six boundaries and five sixes.

“Great players do that. Sachin Tendulkar used to do that. He used to target the big bowlers in the opposition team, whether it was Glenn McGrath or Shane Warne, we have seen that repeatedly. Virat Kohli is also a player of the same stature. So, he says that he will try to do even better when confronted with a challenge,” said Pathan.

RCB will now take on KKR in their next IPL 2023 clash on Thursday, 6th April.
