Former India selector Saba Karim has hit out at India fast bowler Arshdeep Singh for bowling 5 no balls in the second T20I match against Sri Lanka. Singh, did not have a good return to the Indian team, giving away 37 runs from his 2 overs in the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Pune.

Experts questioned Arshdeep’s preparation ahead of the T20I game, something that Saba Karim has agreed with. Speaking to India News, Karim said questioned Arshdeep not playing in the domestic season during his break from the Indian team.

“Why is Arshdeep Singh not playing domestic cricket in between international matches? Why didn’t he play Vijay Hazare for Punjab?” Saba Karim questioned on India News.

Earlier, former all-rounder Reetinder Singh Sodhi had pointed out that Indian cricketing legends like Sachin Tendulkar and Javagal Srinath used to go back to the Indian domestic season during their time away from international cricket.

“When Sachin Tendulkar and Javagal Srinath didn’t use to play for India, they represented Mumbai and Karnataka,” Sodhi was quoted as saying by Sportskeeda.

“We have to be patient. It takes time to build a team. It’s a young team with a lot of changes. The new players will make mistakes and that’s how they will learn. It will keep going up and down for the next few days. You have to trust them,” Karim toned down after his criticism of Arshdeep Singh.
