Pakistan’s approach in Test cricket has been quite negative, says Kamran Akmal on draw against NZ

Former Pakistan wicket-keeping batter Kamran Akmal has hit out at Pakistan’s approach in Test cricket, calling it negative. Pakistan were held to a draw against New Zealand in the first Test of the two-match series in Karachi.

Speaking on his Youtube channel, Akmal criticised Pakistan’s approach in Test cricket, adding that they need to prepare pitches that give the bowlers some confidence.

“Pakistan’s approach in Test cricket has been quite negative, considering the pitches that we have been preparing. While we have used batting-friendly pitches in their last seven home Tests, it is equally important to give our bowlers some confidence,” said Akmal.

He said the Kiwis played much better than Pakistan in Karachi, insisting that they were able to dominate despite playing in challenging conditions.

“New Zealand played a lot better than Pakistan. They were playing on a tough pitch and in challenging conditions. But they were still able to dominate,” said Akmal.
