England all-rounder Sam Curran was hailed by business tycoon Anand Mahindra for his grace and humility after he posted a tweet congratulating Team India for their 2-1 win in the recently-concluded ODI series. Curran’s valiant knock of unbeaten 95 went in vain as England lost the third and final ODI by 7 runs after failing to chase down the target of 330 runs.

In pursuit of the 330 run-target, England were left reeling at 168/6 in the 26th over with little or no hopes of winning the game. However, what followed was an incredible fightback from Curran, who single-handedly kept the visitors in the hunt till the end with one of the finest knocks by a number 8 in ODI cricket. Curran scored unbeaten 95 off 83 balls laced with 9 fours and 3 sixes.

He took the game till the final over but failed to get his team over the line as India pulled off a thrilling victory to register a 2-1 win in the ODI series and record a clean sweep over England across all formats in the tour. Curran later took to Twitter to congratulate Team India on their series win and wrote – “Lots of lessons learnt, great series to be apart of. Congratulations to India.”

Anand Mahindra was left impressed by the England all-rounder’s grace and humility. He reacted to Curran’s tweet and termed him the definition of heroism, humility, and grace. “If you’re looking for the definition of heroism, humility & grace..” the Mahindra Group’s chairman wrote in a tweet on Tuesday.
