Before leaving the Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC), Shammi Silva led administration is getting busy in last minute transfers and extensions of favorite employees, Cricket Age reliably learns.

On March 28, Cricket Age had exclusively published that the Sports Ministry is going to appoint a committee comprising five members to run day to day affairs at Maitland Place following the recommendation given by the Attorney General that the term of the current office bearers of has ceased after 20 February.

The AG’s advice comes after Colombo Colts CC stalwart Nishantha Ranatunga had written to the Minister of Sports seeking an interim committee to run Sri Lanka Cricket as their term of management had come to an end in February. The five-member committee once appointed will run the administrative affairs of SLC till the elections are held on 20 May.

According to sources, following the recommendation of powerful HR manager Tanesh Dias, a SLC driver was transferred to Khetterama without any explanation. Also, while Travis Fernando has been given two-year extension, few other officials contracts have also been extended by one year.

Meanwhile, the Sports Ministry has confirmed Cricket Age that Shammi Silva led administration will not be allowed to continue as interim arrangement.

“Why should we continue with them, when they are guilty of violating the law. There will be a new committee, with well reputed people” a top Sports Ministry official told Cricket Age.
