No Sachin, MS Dhoni in Afridi all-time World Cup XI

Written by Rohit Pawar

Former Pakistan captain Shahid Afridi has picked his all-time World Cup team and it is filled with a lot of surprises. Indian fans will not be too happy with the side as it does not feature Sachin Tendulkar or World Cup-winning skipper MS Dhoni. The lone Indian in the side is current captain Virat Kohli.

The exclusion of Sachin from the team is bewildering as the batting maestro has appeared in six editions. He has scored 2278 runs in 44 innings at an average of 56.95 with 16 half-centuries and six centuries.

Also, MS Dhoni is perhaps the greatest finishers the game has ever seen and has also led India to a World Cup triumph back in 2011. The seasoned campaigner will once again be an integral member of the Indian side at this year’s World Cup.

Shahid Afridi’s all-time World Cup XI: Saeed Anwar, Adam Gilchrist, Ricky Ponting, Virat Kohli, Inzamam ul-Haq, Jacques Kallis, Wasim Akram, Glenn McGrath, Shane Warne, Shoaib Akhtar, Saqlain Mushtaq
