Written by Vishwas Gupta

Chulananda Perera, the newly appointed Competent Authority of Sri Lanka Cricket Board (SLC) on Friday reappointed all the committees of the board, which were dissolved few days ago on the recommendation of CEO Ashley De Silva, Cricket Age reliably learns.

On November 5, then Sports Minister Faizer Mustapha’s secretary Kamal Padmasiri had appointed three committees – tournament committee (headed by Samantha Dodanwela), umpires committee ( headed by K.H. Nandasena) and cricket advisory committee ( headed by Michael De Zoysa) in order to run the SLC smoothly.

However, as Harin Fernando took over as Sports Minister after Prime Minister Ranil Wickramsinghe led UNP government was reestablished, Ashley De Silva manipulated him by stating that these committees also must be dissolved. Ashley conveyed the same message to committees members also, that their services are not required. Only after that, Samantha Dodanwela led tournament committee tendered resignation last week.

However, on Friday, after getting the opinion of genuine stakeholders of Sri Lanka cricket, Competent Authority Chulananda Perera reappointed all the committees until the SLC election take place.
