Exposed! A BCCI official interfered in team India’s selection during the Asia Cup!

A day after the letter by senior women’s team player Mithali Raj, a senior BCCI administrator interfered with selection in men’s team as well; trying to influence an interim captain during Asia Cup, Cricket Age reliably learns. Rohit Sharma led India in the tournament in absence of Virat Kohli with Shikhar Dhawan as his deputy.

In the duo’s absence, former skipper MS Dhoni led the team in the match against Afghanistan where India made a total of five changes.

The administrator ensured that a Grade C cricketer is given a Grade B contract.

“It was a kind of diktat. He (the unnamed cricketer) was picked for the series in England and failed but continues to be around. You should ask this administrator if there was any effort to exert influence, even if that meant dictating the team who their captain should be,” a source said.

While the men’s team scenario is yet to be out in public, Mithali’s letter has taken the fans by a surprise. As per reports, Ramesh Powar is expected to meet BCCI officials on Wednesday. A decision over the matter is expected to be taken soon.
