Jerome Jayarathne Accuses Of Using Two SLC Vehicles

Written by N Krishnamurthy

Jerome Jayarathne, the controversial COO of Sri Lanka Cricket Board (SLC) has been accused of using two board vehicles. The surprising thing is that even after knowing Jerome misdeed, SLC CEO Ashley De Silva, for some mysterious reasons, has not instructed him to release the older vehicle.

Recently, Jerome, like four other SLC officials including CEO Ashley De Silva, was given new luxury vehicle, each worth Rs. 12 million.

According to sources, Jerome is still using the older vehicle for his family purpose. One of his family member works at Cinnamon grand, so Jerome is reluctant to release the older vehicle as well.

“Earlier as well, Jerome was using SLC Tuk-Tuk at Khetterama for his family purpose” a former ExCo member told Cricket Age.

It is noteworthy that currently SLC is under the supervision of Sports Minister appointed Competent Authority Kamal Padmasiri. However, he is also turning a blind eye on Jerome’s misdeed.

In another incident, Two days ago, Sports Minister Faizer Mustapha canceled the tender contracts given by Jerome and Travis for the ongoing England series. Instead, now Faizer has given the orders to allot the tenders to previous vendors.

An official with little management skills, Jerome always pretends to be a workaholic, with a laptop in hands 18-hours in a day! He was a reasonable coach, however, former SLC President Thilanga Sumathipala, for some mysterious reasons, brought him as the COO of the SLC and messed up everything!
