Virat Kohli Surpasses Sachin Tendulkar To Become Fastest Player To Reach 10,000 ODI Runs

Virat Kohli created another record on Wednesday as he went on to surpass Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar to become the fastest player to score 10,000 runs in ODI. The right-handed batsman reached the landmark in the 2nd ODI against West Indies at Visakhapatnam. The 29-year-old achieved the feat in 205 innings while it had taken Tendulkar 259 innings to do so.

Kohli also became the fifth Indian batsman and 13th overall to join the club. Apart from Kohli and Tendulkar, the other Indian batsmen who have scored over 10,000 runs are Sourav Ganguly (263), Rahul Dravid (287) and MS Dhoni (273). The list also includes international players – Tillekaratne Dilshan, Kumar Sangakkara, Sanath Jayasuriya, Mahela Jayawardene (Sri Lanka), Ricky Ponting (Australia), Jacques Kallis (South Africa), Brian Lara (West Indies) and Inzamam-ul-Haq (Pakistan).
