Sports Minister Faizer Mustapha is likely to gazette the new regulations for the appointment of the election committee to conduct the elections at Sri Lanka Cricket Board (SLC), Cricket Age reliably learns.

Faizer has just returned from the overseas tour on Monday.

According to sources, he will also announce the members of management committee on Monday itself, to run the SLC until the election.

After Thilanga Sumathipala led administration left the SLC on May 31st due to failing to hold the election on time, Sports Minister has taken over the board and his secretary Kamal Padmasiri is overseeing day to day affairs as competent authority.

On August 29, Faizer and SLC officials met the International Cricket Council (ICC) CEO David Richardson and Chief Shashank Manohar. After the meeting, ICC top officials instructed Faizer to immediately appoint the four members management committee to run the SLC until the election.
