Sports Minister Suspects SLC’s Aruna De Silva For Leaking ‘Ticket Details’

Sports Minister Faizer Mustapha is apparently furious with Sri Lanka Cricket Board (SLC) Head Of Administration Aruna De Silva after media outrage against Minister over the alleged hijacking of most of the tickets of recently concluded South Africa Series.

There are plenty of reports in media, which says that Faizer took almost all the complimentary tickets for tests, ODIs and t20 matches. Aruna De Silva was the incharge of tickets sales and distribution for the South Africa series.

As the news leaked to media and Faizer faced criticism for using Cricket for his political campaign, he is now blaming Aruna De Silva for leaking the information.

According to ministerial sources, Faizer was so furious that, on Friday, he ordered SLC to issue a media statement to deny the media reports.

“Certain parties have claimed that Sri Lanka Cricket has made an allocation of 800 tickets to the Hon. Minister of Sports Faiszer Musthapa, to be allocated to his supporters to witness the concluded Sri Lanka and South Africa Series.

However, SLC wishes to clarify that such allegations are baseless, as Sri Lanka Cricket only allocated tickets to the Hon. Minister of Sports to accommodate people at the ‘Minister’s Box,’ which is reserved for the Minister of Sports, during International Matches” SLC Media releases said.

Many Sri Lanka’s former players and administrators have also made a complaint to Faizer, saying when they asked Aruna De Silva for complimentary tickets, he replied them that minister took all the tickets!
