Written by N Krishnamurthy

Even though he declared in the beginning itself that he doesn’t know anything about Cricket, it seems that Sports Minister Faizer Mustapha has been enjoying running Sri Lanka Cricket Board (SLC) big time. While In just over one month his secretary Kamal Padmasiri, whom he has appointed as Competent Authority to run the SLC, has already gone Two times for overseas joyrides, now Mustapha himself is enjoying the luxuries of the Board.

Currently the first test match between Sri Lanka and South Africa is in progress in Galle, and Mustapha has taken over 200 VIP Passes from the SLC, Cricket Age reliably learns.

According to Sources, Mustapha asked SLC for those VIP Passes for his supporters and Voters.

“He has not only taken over 200 VIP Passes, he also got lavish food and drinks, Catered by Five Star Light House Hotel” a top official of SLC told Cricket Age in term of anonymity.

It is noteworthy that since the departure of Thilanga Sumathipala led administration on May 31st after failing to conduct election on time, entire cricket fraternity is looking towards Mustapha with high hopes that he will resurrect Sri Lanka Cricket somehow. He himself has given big statements that he is not like his predecessor Dayasiri Jayasekara, who was notorious for safeguarding Sumathipala administration wrongdoings. Since the departure of Sumathipala and Co, Almost every former player and SLC administrator has pleaded Mustapha to resurrect Sri Lanka Cricket.

Now, it looks a distant dream, as Mustapha himself is enjoying the luxuries of SLC!
