Shehan Jayasuriya Shines In Sri Lanka A Test Series Win Against Bangladesh

On a day, where National Team struggled to post a decent first innings total in the first test against South Africa at Galle despite batting heroics of Dimuth Karunaratne, few thousands miles away in Bangladesh, Sri Lanka A team won three match test series 1-0 in thumping style. Riding on the allround performance of Shehan Jayasuriya, Sri Lanka A won the third unofficial test at Sylhet by innings and 38 runs to win a much needed trophy for Sri Lanka Cricket.

Jayasuriya was named man of the match for his heroics with both bat and ball, while seasoned campaigner Lahiru Thirimane swept man of the series award.

Sri Lanka A posted a match winning first innings total of 312 after Bangladesh A failed with the bat in their first innings, bowled out for below par 167. For Sri Lanka A, Jayasuriya played a memorable knock of 142, while former U19 batting prodigy Shammu Ashan made well composed 60.

Jayasuriya prospered with the ball also, as Bangladesh collapsed for paltry 107.

Both the teams to play ODI Series now, where Sri Lanka A will be captained by charismatic allrounder Thisara Perera.
