Ranatunga, Dharmadasa To Contest SLC Election Against Sumathipala

Two Prominent Stalwart Jayantha Dharmadasa and Nishantha Ranatunga have submitted their nominations to contest the Sri Lanka Cricket Board (SLC) Presidential Election Against Current President Thilanga Sumathipala, Cricket Age learns.

After Various Kind of Drama’s and uncertainty in last one month, SLC has finally scheduled Election for May 31.

As Sumathipala led administration will try to secure another term, Former president Jayantha Dharmadasa has come forward to contest. Interestingly, Dharmadasa had been associated with Sumathipala in the present administration till May 2017 as vice president, but resigned following the many wrongdoings of SLC.

Nishantha Ranatunga, The former SLC Secretary, has also submitted his nomination for the President Post. Interestingly, Nishantha has submitted the nomination for the secretary post as well. In addition, his close aide Hirantha Perera has also put his nomination for the vice president and Secretary post.

From the Sumathipala Camp, meanwhile, Mohan De Silva has also submitted nomination for the President Post, as well as for the Vice president post. In a pleasant move, Samantha Dodenwela, the President of Sinhlease Sports Club, has also submitted his nomination for Assistant Secretary Post.

Shammi Silva, the current Treasurer of SLC who doesn’t know anything about accounting, has submitted his nomination for three posts : Vice president, secretary and Treasurer.
