Written by Rohit Pawar

Veteran Off spinner Dilruwan Perera has been included into Colombo Squad for the upcoming Super Provincial 50 Overs tournament. As Cricket Age published one week ago, Inform Batsman Roshen Silva has also been named into Galle Squad, after being ignored initially.

Dilruwan has been a consistent performer for Sri Lanka in last two years in test cricket. However, he hardly plays limited overs cricket. In his career so far, he has only played 12 ODI’s.

Silva’s name was not there in any of the four squads earlier. However, according to sources, after seeing his majestic batting form in recently concluded Four-Day tournament, Pressure was on selectors to include him. According to sources, After question raised from all the corners regarding his non selection, Graeme Labrooy, the Chief selector of Sri Lanka, gave green signal to include him, over the ‘Skype’ as he is in overseas.

Over the last one year, Roshen has become the run machine for Sri Lanka in test cricket, with a bradman like test average. He carried his international form into Provincial tournament as well, scored 535 runs in 5 innings, with an average of 178.
