Samantha Dodanwela raises a Valid question at EGM

Written by Rohit Pawar

Samantha Dodanwela, The stalwart of Sinhalese Sports Club (SSC), raised a valid question to give the opportunity to opposite team to host the match when when team doesn’t have a ground, Cricket Age learns. During the Sri Lanka Cricket Board Extraordinary General Meeting (EGM) yesterday, the board presented revised domestic tournament structure, which was approved by the ExCo Committee on the 6th December 2017.

According to sources, Dodanwela gave a classic example of Ragama CC. Ragama doesn’t have their own ground, so whenever they plays a match against a opposition is a host team, they hires grounds on rent, which caused extra expenses.

To avoid this scenario, recently Dodanwela offered Ragama CC to play at their venue. Not only this, he even offered Ragama CC to prepare the wicket on their own.

The same points Dodanwela raised in the EGM on Sunday. He stated that If Host team doesn’t have a Stadium, the opposite team must give the chance to organize the match at their ground.
