The super flop duo of Manager Mahinda Halangoda and Coach Roy Dias has returned for the Sri Lanka quest to win the prestigious U19 World Cup, Startinng in January 2018 in New Zealand.

Both Halangoda and Dais were the part of the Sri Lanka team during their campaign in Recently concluded U19 Asia Cup in Malaysia. However, Sri Lanka team knocked out in the first round ambarassingly after some poor strategic decisions.

In that tournament Sri Lanka won convincingly against UAE and Afghanistan. However, for the do or die match against Pakistan, team management rested top players, assuming they are almost through the semi final. Eventually, Sri Lanka lost the match and ended the campaign in a disasterous note. There were also reports of SLC CEO asked for a explanation of the team’s poor showing, but as it has become a norm with the board, no one knows the outcome.

After the Asia Cup debacle, Halangoda was ‘rested’ for the team’s next assignment in India for the challenger trophy, although Roy Dias was there as the Coach. Challenger trophy also turned out a failed campaign for the team, as they were comprehensively beaten in the final.

Now, The same duo of Halangoda and Roy Dias making strategies for the U19 World Cup!
