Hathurusingha Officially take over as Sri Lanka Head Coach, will speak to media tomorrow

Former Sri Lankan Cricketer Chandika Hathurusingha officially began his work as National Head Coach of SL Cricket team on Tuesday, and will speak to media tomorrow afternoon, Cricket Age learns.

Of late, Sri Lanka has become a difficult place for international Coaches to do their jobs with authority. Only after 2011 World Cup, Sri Lanka have hired half a dozen Coaches. Marvan Attapatu couldn’t fight with internal politics, Trevor Bayliss ditched Sri Lanka and grabbed England, Paul fabrace followed him with fazed mind, Graham Ford couldn’t cope with Multitasking Asanka Gurusinha. All in all, The internal politics of SLC played a big part in the exits, departure of these coaches over the year. In this sort of scenario, it will be interesting to see the collaboration of Hathurusingha and Thilanga Sumathipala led SLC.

Hathurusingha has played 26 tests and 35 ODI’s for Sri Lanka. But, he is a universally well-Known as a innovative and forward Thinking Coach. He has associated as a Shadow Coach with Sri Lanka team, during Kumar Sangakkara tenure as the captain.

Under his supervision, Bangladesh has become one of the most competitive team in the world m, especially on their home soil.
