Shikhar Dhawan Surpasses Gordon Greenidge’s 29-year-old feat

Team India’s dashing opener Shikhar Dhawan has becomes 6th fastest batsman to 4,000 ODI runs, during his scintillating hundred in the third ODI against Sri Lanka at Visag. Dhawan took just 95 innings to reach the feat. Australian opener David Warner reached the feat in same number of innings too.

With the landmark, Dhawan also became the second-fastest Indian batsman to reach 4,000 ODI runs. Virat Kohli reached the mark in 93 innings. Though Dhawan and Kohli took same number of matches to reach the feat.

During his match winning knock, Dhawan was also able to beat former Indian skipper Sourav Ganguly and India’s legendary batsman Sachin Tendulkar who reached the feat in 105 and 112 innings respectively.

Dhawan is also the second fastest Indian batsman to 12 ODI centuries after Virat Kohli who took 83 innings to reach this feat. He is also the fourth fastest batsman in the world to hit 12 ODI tons. Amla leads the list followed by Kohli, Warner, Dhawan and Marcus Trescothick.
