Sri Lankan girl blasts ICC over Virat Kohli Wedding Tweet

Written by Rohit Pawar

Team India’s captain Virat Kohli and actress Anushka Sharma married on Monday in Tuscany, Italy, setting to rest a lot of speculation and conjecture. The two of them issued a joint statement on social media to formally announce their union. Even before their wedding was confirmed, hashtags like #VirushkaWedding #Virushka #VirushkaKiShadi were trending on Twitter and their fans were elated to hear the news when it was finally confirmed by the duo. Anushka and Virat made the news public at the same time, posting separate pictures from the wedding ceremony held at heritage hotel, Borgo Finocchieto.

Kohli’s post has been liked 4,80,024 and retweeted 85744, times on Twitter. On Instagram, his post has 3,932,473 likes. On the contrary, Anushka’s post has got 355,385 likes and 56241 retweets, so far. On Instagram, her post has been liked by 3,035,800 fans.

The International Cricket Council (ICC) also wished newly married couple.

“Congratulations @imVkohli and @AnushkaSharma!” ICC posted on its official Twitter handle.

However, a Sri Lankan girl raised a valid question on her twitter.

“No offense to Virat or Anushka, but what the hell is @ICC doing?
When did they start to wish for weddings? Did they do this for others players too? 😏😏” she wrote on her twitter handle.

Her question looks logical, though, as ICC never wished any Cricketer for the marriage in past.
